Super Bowl 48

This year's Super Bowl has the Seattle Seahawks playing against the Denver Broncos. I think that because of the cold weather, wind, and possible snow or rain, the Seahawks will win. They have the top defense in the league facing off against arguably the best offense ever, the Broncos. For the Seahawks to win, they will need one of the biggest safeties in the league, Kam Chancellor, shut down one of the better tight ends in the league, Julius Thomas. They will also need Richard Sherman to make big plays against Demaryius Thomas, and they need Earl Thomas to be a ball hawk like he always is. For Seattle on offense, Russel Wilson will throw for 250 yards and 2 touchdowns, with over 100 of those yards going to Percy Harvin who i think will also contribute with his kick return abilities. I think the Broncos will try to shut Marshawn Lynch down but he will still manage to gain 100 yards and a TD. Peyton Manning on the other hand, the Broncos QB will throw for 300 yards, 3 Touchdowns, and 1 key interception that will be returned for a TD. Knowshon Moreno will not do as well as is expected from him, and Julius and Demaryius Thomas will really have to fight for their yards and receptions as they will have two of the best DB's in the league covering them. I predict the final score of the game to be 31-24. Seattle will get to hold the trophy after Super Bowl 48. (I also think Peyton Manning gets a little bit more attention than he deserves. He is very good, but his receivers gave him over 1,000 yards after the catch this past season. Their offense is predicated on the screen game, flat passes, and picks on crossing routes. This will not be as effective against the top ranked Seattle defense as it was against an injury-filled Patriots defense that the Broncos beat in the AFC Championship.)

  1. Jack, I agree with you in that the Seahawks will be victorious. Although, I believe the high score of 31-24 is quite the bold prediction.

  3. True, the cold weather should have a factor on Peyton.
